Jellystone Park™ in Frankenmuth Named Camp-Resort of the Year

Frankenmuth, Michigan (June 2004) - The Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Frankenmuth, has been recognized as "Camp-Resort of the Year" by the Jellystone Park franchise system.

The award is the highest honor that can be given to a Jellystone Park. The facility as well as its operators must exceed all Jellystone standards of operations. The recipient must have shown a strong growth in business, implemented sustained improvements to the facilities, ranked in the Pinnacle Club (score of 95% or higher on inspection), and be viewed as a leader in the campground industry. The award was presented at the annual meeting of the Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort group in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Park received a score of 99.22 out of a possible 100 on their inspection, which is based on numerous items such as proper Yogi Bear theming, clean restrooms, well manicured and landscaped property, variety of recreational activities, well maintained campsites and cabins, and the overall appearance of the Camp-Resort.

"We work very hard all year to keep the park in tip-top shape," commented Erv Banes, owner.

In addition, Frankenmuth saw an 11% increase in business in 2003. "We were pleased with the increase and attribute it to our commitment to our customers," stated manager Cindy Keinath.

The 260-site facility is the only full service campground in Michigan's top tourist destination which sees over 3 million visitors annually. The park was also recognized by Woodall's with a top quality 5W 5W rating for facilities and recreation (A 5W 5W rating is the highest rating and achieved by only 2% of the privately owned parks that Woodall's lists.) The park hosts a variety of amenities including a heated indoor swimming pool, hot tub, game room, heated recreation room, mini golf, bike rentals, and community campfire rings. It is open year-round, but the official camping season kicked off Memorial Day weekend.
