Jellystone
Park in Sioux Falls Wins Awards for Excellence in Camping Industry
Sioux
Falls, SD (March, 2007) - Bruce and Donna Aljets, owners,
and Ray Aljets and Christina Lien, managers of the Yogi Bear's Jellystone
Park Camp-Resort at Sioux Falls, have been recognized with the "Carroll
Award" and the "Facility of the Year Award" by the
Jellystone Park franchise system. The awards were presented at the
annual meeting of the Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park group in Cincinnati
, Ohio .
The
Carroll Award is given to the Camp-Resort with the highest inspection
rating among the 70 Jellystone Parks in the United States and Canada
. The Aljets received an outstanding score of 100 out of a possible
100 on their inspection. The score is based on numerous items such
as proper Yogi Bear theming, clean restrooms, well-manicured and
landscaped property, a variety of recreational activities, well
maintained campsites and cabins, and the overall appearance of the
Camp-Resort.
"We
take a lot of pride in keeping our facilities in impeccable condition,"
said Bruce Aljets. "I'm so proud of our staff for their commitment
to quality and for helping to earn our park this recognition."
The
Facility of the Year Award is given to the Camp-Resort that has
added new amenities and facilities while also showing sustained
improvements on current amenities. The newest arrival in lodging
for 2007 is another Cindy's Cottage, featuring two bedrooms, a separate
sitting area with pull-down bed, a fully equipped kitchenette and
private bathroom. And all g uests can enjoy state-of-the-art amenities
including a heated pool and spa, playground, game room, mini golf,
basketball and volleyball, free hot showers, laundromat, camp store
and wireless Internet access.
The
park's recreation program includes daily seasonal activities as
well as special event weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day,
such as Yogi Bear's Racin' Weekend, Happy Birthday America, Christmas
in July and Mardi Gras Weekend. In September, the Aljets will celebrate
the Camp-Resort's 15 th Anniversary with a special $15-per-night
discount on weekend rates.
Located
near Falls Park and Great Plains Zoo, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park
Camp-Resort at Sioux Falls provides the perfect family getaway, offering
