Jellystone Park in Wisconsin Dells Wins Award for Excellence in Camping Industry

Wisconsin Dells, WI (March, 2007) - Brent & Cate Gasser, owners of the Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort & Water Playground in Wisconsin Dells, have been recognized with the "Facility of the Year Award" by the Jellystone Park franchise system. The award is given to the Camp-Resort that has added new amenities and facilities while also showing sustained improvements on current amenities. The award was presented at the annual meeting of the Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort group in Cincinnati, Ohio .

"We are honored and delighted to be selected as "Facility of the Year." This is certainly a testament to our recent upgrades, in particular our becoming the only campground in the country with a 10,000-square-foot water playground included free with each guest's stay," said Brent Gasser. "This year, we will continue to improve the camping experience, offering free wireless Internet service on our entire 63-acre property."

The park also received the "Yogi Bear Theme Award" for its elaborate theme. This Jellystone Park immerses guests as if they were living in the classic Hanna Barbera cartoon, but with a water park twist. These honors join a collection of more than 100 awards, including the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award bestowed on the park since its inception 35 years ago.

This year, the park will kick off a new special events lineup, including live appearances by Dora the Explorer during Fiesta Week, Scooby-Doo during Mystery Week and Sponge Bob during Square Pants Week. The newest arrivals in lodging for 2007 are the Boo Boo's Chalets – log cabins with full baths that sleep four to eight people, some offering full kitchens and lake views. Also new this year is the opening of the first Yogi Bear “Stuff a Bear” in the area, with exclusive Yogi and Boo Boo. 

Located in the heart of Wisconsin Dells, Yogi Bear's Camp-Resort & Water Playground is open April 6 through September 30, 2007 .
