Deer
Run Campground Soon To Be Jellystone Park Camp-Resort
New
Jellystone Park comes to the foothills of the Ozark Mountains
Van
Buren, MO ( May 2006) - One of the world's most famous
bears is coming to the banks of the beautiful Current River to share
his special brand of family fun and camping adventures at affordable
prices.
Deer
Run Campground in Van Buren , MO , the largest privately-owned campground
in the area, this summer will begin converting to a Jellystone Park
Camp-Resort. The facility will debut as Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park
Camp-Resort in spring 2007. Deer Run Campground will be open this
summer during the conversion.
“We
are excited about being a part of the Jellystone Park family,” said
Jeff Wacaster, Deer Run Campground owner. “The North American system
of full-service Camp-Resorts represents cleanliness, safety, innovative
attractions and convenience. We are committed to upholding those
qualities and building upon them in the future.”
The
Van Buren , MO , park boasts loads of family fun at affordable prices,
perfect for a weekend getaway with the kids or a full-fledged family
vacation. Campers of all ages will enjoy the swimming pool, as well
as the 950-foot riverfront for canoeing, tubing, fishing and hiking.
For the kids, there is a 4,000-square-foot recreation hall with
an arcade, a playground, and activities such as games, crafts, stories
and movies. Don't forget the convenient camp store and laundry room.
The park offers tent sites and full hook-up sites with cable TV.
And coming this season: WiFi Internet access and 50-amp electric
sites.
As
Deer Run takes on the Jellystone Park name, the park will get a
facelift, incorporating Jellystone Park signage and other touches
of Yogi Bear, Cindy Bear, Boo Boo and Ranger Smith. The playground
and game room also will be expanded. “We are proud to add this particular
facility to our system,” said Rob Schutter, Leisure Systems' President
and COO . “Van Buren is an ideal location for a quality camping
resort and will compliment our expansion in the western United States
.”
While
you're visiting the foothills of the Ozark Mountains , be sure to
visit the other area attractions, including the Ozark Trail, Mark
Twain National Forest and Ozark National Scenic Riverways.
About
Jellystone Parks
Launched in 1969 by D.M. Haag, the Jellystone Park system is now
the second largest chain of campgrounds in the United States. Its
Camp-Resorts are among the best campgrounds in the industry. They
have a quality reputation for being fun, friendly, clean and service-oriented
parks that on average have a higher revenue per site night and a
longer average stay than that experienced by other campgrounds -
independent or franchised. Additionally, each Jellystone Park is
themed with Yogi Bear elements providing instant recognition and
consumer appeal. It is truly a place "Where You Camp With Friends."®
The
Camp-Resorts are franchised through Leisure Systems, Inc. ( LSI
), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Park River Corporation of Cincinnati
