Western New York Jellystone Park Wins Award for Excellence in Camping Industry

North Java, N.Y. (February 19, 2009) – Scott and Sue Crompton, owners and operators of the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Western New York, have been recognized with the Jim Webb Spirit Award by the Jellystone Park franchise system. The award was presented at the annual meeting of the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort group in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Jim Webb Spirit Award, named after an individual who has played a major role in the success of Jellystone Parks, is presented to the franchisee that has embodied the same spirit, enthusiasm and commitment to the system as Mr. Webb displayed throughout his entire career. 

Since joining the system in 2004, the Cromptons have demonstrated strong leadership and enthusiasm. Under their direction, the Jellystone Park in western N.Y. has grown significantly and sets the standard for a great camping vacation.

North Java’s Jellystone Park draws campers to the water with paddleboats, kayaks and water motorcycles; a heated pool, kiddie pool and Big Squirt spray feature; pool games; white, sandy beach and stocked fishing lake. Campers also will be busy on land with mini golf, peddle bikes and horseshoes; beach volleyball, basketball and a giant playfield; a game room, three playgrounds and golf cart rentals. The park also has full-time activity directors to ensure that families always have organized activities and entertainment available to them. 

Situated on more than 100 acres in the heart of Western New York’s Wyoming County, the Camp-Resort boasts 250 sites, ranging from premium 50-amp pull-through sites to rustic tent settings. The park also offers a variety of rental options from trailers to cabins to chalets. Visitors looking to celebrate a birthday or host a large gathering can purchase a birthday package or enlist the help of park staff to organize, cater and customize private activities and games for a group.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Western New York is opens for the season on April 24, 2009.
